     We have an opportunity for a Level 2 qualified Gym Instructor to join us for 16 hours a week on a 3 month fixed term contract.

    In your role, you will play a key part in the safe enjoyment of our gyms, delivering an amazing member experience, teaching classes, inductions, and taking care of the upkeep of the gym floor.

    You must be studying towards your Level 3 qualification in Personal Training. There is support available to help you transition to a permanent position as a Personal Trainer/Fitness Coach at the end of your contract.

     

    In your role as part-time Gym Instructor, you will receive the following:

    • Supervise entry and exit points, carrying out appropriate checks on individuals entering the premises

    • Maintain a visible presence to discourage unauthorised access and inappropriate behaviour

    • Monitor activity using surveillance tools, including CCTV systems

    • Identify and respond to suspicious behaviour to support loss prevention efforts

    • Act promptly during incidents, including administering first aid when required

    • Enforce venue rules, policies, and legal requirements consistently

    • Accurately document incidents and communicate with relevant authorities when necessary

    • Support crowd management during busy periods or events to ensure safety and order

    Requirements & Skills

    • Previous experience in security or a similar role is beneficial but not mandatory; training can be provided

    • Familiarity with CCTV systems and surveillance practices is an advantage

    • First aid certification or willingness to complete training is preferred

    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify risks quickly

    • Clear and professional communication skills, both spoken and written

    • Ability to stay calm, professional, and diplomatic in challenging situations

    • Physically capable of standing for long periods and managing crowd interactions effectively

    As a Fitness Manager with The Gym Group you will support the General Manager in the successful running of the gym and will deputise in their absence.
