COURSE OVERVIEW

  • This training prepares you for work in the UK’s licensed security sector. By completing the course, you gain the qualifications and practical skills required to apply for an SIA Door Supervisor licence. The programme includes a Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work certificate, which is widely recognised and useful across many workplaces.

The course also focuses on real situations that door supervisors face, helping you build confidence in communication, conflict management, and maintaining safety in busy venues. Successful candidates receive support towards employment, including a guaranteed interview opportunity. In addition, funded places may be available for eligible individuals who are unemployed, have been receiving Universal Credit for more than nine months, and live in Central or West London.

  • The course runs over 6 days and combines classroom learning with practical training and assessments. It covers the core knowledge and skills required to work in the private security industry. Key areas include understanding the role and responsibilities of a door supervisor, communication and conflict management techniques, and the legal framework that applies to security work in the UK.

Participants will also learn safe physical intervention methods, how to manage challenging situations, and how to maintain safety at licensed premises such as bars, pubs, and nightclubs. The programme includes the Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work qualification. Assessment consists of four multiple-choice written exams and a practical physical intervention assessment.

  • To work as a door supervisor in the UK, you must hold a licence issued by the Security Industry Authority (SIA). This licence allows you to work in security roles at licensed venues, including nightclubs, bars, events, and other public spaces where safety and access control are required.

After successfully completing the Door Supervision training course and passing all assessments, you can apply for the SIA Door Supervisor licence. Once approved, the licence confirms that you meet the professional standards set by the SIA and are legally authorised to work in door supervision and related security roles across the UK.
